Goldwell Structure + Protection is the initial treatment in the Structure + Shine line specially formulated to regulate the straightening process, while filling in any possible defects in the hair and providing care.

The Structure + Shine range is a highly effective Permanent Straightening treatment that unifies the hair and gives it a spectacular shine.
It can be used on all types of hair, both natural, curly, fine, dyed or resistant. The treatment consists of: Protection (Initial Treatment), Softening Cream and Neutralizing Cream .

APPLICATION MODE

»1.) Wash hair thoroughly and remove excess moisture with a towel.

»2.) Apply Structure + Shine Shine Optimizer and brush to detangle hair.

»3.) If necessary, apply Structure + Shine Protection to the sensitive and porous areas of the hair using a bowl and a trowel.

»4.) Divide the hair into 6 sections. Starting from the nape area, apply Structure + Shine Agent 1 in thin sections (0.5 cm), leaving 1 cm from the untreated scalp.

»5.) To ensure straightening, test very fine hair on 2 or 3 strands in different parts of the head.
»Once the hair straightening level has been reached, rinse the hair thoroughly with water (for 3-5 minutes), and then dry it with a towel.
  • Knot 1 test
Tie a knot and tighten it, sliding the lock to create a small circle (1 cm in diameter). Next, release the tension.
»The knot remains closed = the hair is straightened; continue with the service.
»The knot is extended or opened = lengthening the exposure time; repeat the test.
  • Knot 2 test
Wind a strand of hair around the end of a barbed comb. Hold for 5 seconds, then release.
»Spiral shape remains = hair is straightened; continue with the service.
»The spiral shape opens = lengthen the exposure time; repeat the test.

»Divide the hair into 6 sections. Adjust the temperature of the iron to the structure of the hair. Starting at the nape, straighten the hair in thin sections (0.5 cm) from the roots to the ends (3-4 times). Pay special attention to the root zone, smoothing it with greater intensity.

»6) Reapply Structure + Shine Optimizer before using the straightener, so that the straightener glides on easily and the hair is sufficiently protected from heat.

»7) Make sure to orient the hair to a 90 ° angle when straightening it. Get a more natural final look with zigzag sections at the crown. See the recommended iron temperature for each hair type below.

Hair Texture Agent 1 Exhibithion time Maximum iron temperature
Resistant 0 - Strong 18-25 minutes 180ºC
Normal 1 - Regular 12-18 minutes 180ºC
Porous 2 medium 12-15 minutes 160ºC
Damaged 3 - Soft 8-12 minutes 160ºC

» 8.) For the last step there are 2 options:
» Option 1: Structure + Shine Agent 2
Divide the hair into 6 sections. Starting at the nape, apply Structure + Shine Agent 2 , section by section, from roots to ends, to stabilize the straightening result. Leave on for 5-8 minutes without applying heat. Then rinse thoroughly with water (for 3-5 minutes). Treat with the right Kerasilk products .
» Option 2: Color Reblonding with Colorance
When the color needs to be refreshed we can use the main segment of the Colorance range instead of Structure + Shine Agent 2 . Leave on for 15 minutes without heat. Then rinse thoroughly with water (for 3-5 minutes). Dealing with Kerasilk products suitable.
