OUR HISTORY
Our company was founded by three geneticists who spent ten years developing a method to create biorisk-free recombinant proteins in plants for use in medical research.
We founded BIOEFFECT when we discovered a way to bio-engineer a replica of EGF, a natural human protein, in barley plants. This is BOIOEFFECT EGF.

Our barley grown EGF is exceptionally pure. It is grown on abundant inert volcanic pumice in an ecologically engineered CO2 negative greenhouse.
We use natural geothermal energy and pure glacial groundwater, and we do not test on animals.
EGF stands for epithelial growth factor, and it is a single chain, non-glycosylated protein that occurs naturally in our skin cells.
